At Lown Brae we aim to breed quality, quiet Belted Galloways that have commercial traits. AI is being used extensively to introduce different bloodlines from over ten different bulls. Lown Brae has already enrolled for Breedplan and hopes for other members to follow.

Recently we got three Lown Brae bred bulls gene star tested and had pleasing results. The results are as follows,
   Lown Brae Amigo: Marbling: 0, Tenderness: 5, Feed Efficiency: 7
   Lown Brae Apache: Marbling: 1, Tenderness: 4, Feed Efficiency: 5
  Lown Brae Kirk: Marbling: 1, Tenderness: 7, Feed Efficiency: 5

At the 2008 Toowoomba Royal Show, Lown Brae Barbie was named Grand Champion Female while Lown Brae Bonita recieved Reserve Senior Champion Female.

A special congratulations go to Cassaglen Stud who's steers received two 2nd's in their respective classes. It was good to see the Belties do well in the led steer competition.
